Where Did Angelize Come From?

I was born and raised in Southern California. I married, started a family, raised my children, divorced, and lived a lot of my life there. After this chapter of my life, I moved to Utah where I was an instructor at a hair school. I absolutely loved it! This is actually where eyelash extensions were introduced to me. It was 2005 when I first heard about them and thought they were the most ridiculous thing. One of my students at the hair school I instructed at, taught me more about lash extensions and eventually talked me into getting some myself. I have been hooked ever since!

I was approached and trained to do eyelash extensions by a lady who only wanted me for advertisement. My training consisted of only an hour of theory and showing me the most ridiculous shapes. Then I was required to bring in a model and and place my first set of lashes while my instructor worked on placing lashes on her own client. She was too busy to help me. This instructor then created an advertisement to bring in more business, and I did all the work. This advertisement marketed full sets for $25 (no, that is not a typo). I did a lot, and I mean a lot of those. After the advertisement was complete, she fired me.

Being the perfectionist that I am, I started to search out things to learn. I watched different people so I could get better and learn the things that I was not taught. Because I learned to re-book those clients I did for the advertisement, I was able to take a good clientele with me and open up a salon with my daughter and a friend. As time went on, and more and more referrals came in, I was doing lashes for up to ten hours a day.

At this point in time, other women started asking me to teach them. I saw this as an opportunity and ran with it. I came up with a lesson plan and created a good learning experience for those that would be taught by me. I wanted to implement everything and give them the information that I wish I would have been given when I was taught.

I still continue to teach others and do eyelashes for my own clients. I have since created my own line of lash products, married my sweet husband, and moved to a small town in Idaho.
